Diabetes is concerned with the diagnosis and treatment of metabolic disorders that result from an impairment or loss of the pancreas' incretory function. A Diabetologist is an individual with a specific interest and expertise in the diagnosis and medical management of insulin-dependent and non-insulin-dependent diabetes. This is the treatment of disorders of glands such as thyroid and adrenal. Diabetes, metabolic and nutritional disorders and bone disorders such as osteoporosis are treated. The endocrinologist concentrates on disorders of the internal (endocrine) glands such as the thyroid and adrenal glands. Endocrinology also deals with disorders such as diabetes, metabolic and nutritional disorders, pituitary diseases, and menstrual and sexual problems
